My goal is to convey the skills that will allow a student to understand the language of music. With that knowledge a student can pick up virtually any song in any style and play it on a guitar. A foundation in music enables a musician to speak with other musicians, effectively contribute to a band, or write cohesive music of their own. Guitar is cool, and--don’t tell any teenager--but music lessons are great for right-brain and left-brain development, self-discipline, and building a sense of accomplishment.
In addition to twenty plus years performing and writing music for guitar, I attended both Boise State University and Musician's Institute in Hollywood, and I have been teaching for many years with great success. I've built guitars, repaired and sold them, too. I can help students pick out the right guitar, so contact me if you need advice before making an investment.
